Welcome Back,
The kiddos all came back with lots of smiles and put their best foot forward.
I am so proud to have my homeroom and all of the 4th graders this year, they have started out really well and I see nothing but greater things still to come in the future. Our new Curriculum for Math is Bridges this year so I hope the kids will enjoy it as much as I have getting to know the ins and outs of it all.

5th grade on the battlefield
I believe a good time was had by all. I will be posting pictures and videos this week as we go on. Thanks to all of the parents for letting us take the kids to see many arts that are lost to our generation.

Benchmark #1 is finished
Both 4th and 5th graders did a fabulous job on their 1st benchmark, so they are to be congratulated on a job well done. I will get out a tutoring letter, early next week for each student because all are invited and a very few are really urged if scores point in that direction. I do know that tutoring will be in the mornings and usually on Tuesday and Thursday. I am so proud to have two very good groups of students and if needed or wanted, Please call or come by any day.

This week in Math, our 4th graders received their Motivational Math books that we will use as homework. This material is top of the line and will challenge our kids, but they will get stronger and stronger. Tuesday night was the first time they had this for homework and they came back with many questions. Questions are a good thing, They let me know when I need to explain things in a different manner because the understanding is not there and the student is working hard to learn what they need. Keep up the fabulous work and make sure you keep asking those questions for better understanding.
Talk about bending backwards for someone!!!
How many rocks does it take to cover a 5th grader at recess?
